Workforce Planning and The Affordable Care Act

Wed, Jul 24, 2013 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM CDT

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) impacts every employer in the United States to some degree. For example, many employers depend heavily upon workers that they consider to be “Part Time,” however, under the ACA many of these individuals will actually be considered “Variable Hour” and thus require careful attention and diligence to ensure that penalty thresholds are not crossed. The ACA also uses “Hours of Service” rather than “Hours Worked” for calculating “Applicable Large Employer” and “Full Time” employee status. Many employers will need to adjust their internal procedures to accurately track “Hours of Service.” Join us for our one hour webinar on Workforce Planning and the Affordable Care Act, where we will cover:

  • Determining “Applicable Large Employer” status
  • “Variable Hour Employee” tracking considerations
  • Calculating ‘Hours of Service”
  • Calculating “Full Time Equivalent” employees
  • Determining an optimal “Standard Measurement Period”
  • “Seasonal Employee” considerations.
